Alon Amar, founder of Project² in 1991 with André Singer, started off with modest projects. Right from the start though, he applied his vision of distinctive architectural quality.
Milestones
1994: first major project, Koraalberg (project value € 6.5 M), in the historical centre of Antwerp with architect bOb Van Reeth and landscape designer Jacques Wirtz.
2000: next important milestone, a € 50 M development designed by prof. Hans Kollhoff, the renowned German architect (Mercedes tower at Potsdammerplatz in Berlin). "Het Koninklijk Entrepôt" initiated the renewal of an abandoned dock site into a vibrant and beautiful inner city marina neighbourhood. Landscape by Wirtz.
2003: Project² wins international competition for the € 150 M Westkaai project (6 towers along a dock in Anwerp) in joint venture with KBC Real Estate and 3D. The two first towers designed by Diener & Diener will be ready in September 2009. David Chipperfield designs the next 2 towers. Landscape by Michel Desvigne.
2004: capital increase of € 10M, two banks and some industrial families take a strategic stake in Project².
2006: Project² becomes international. It acquires a 200,000 m² project in the Paris region and a 110 ha golf resort with 200 units on the Côte d'Azur. These projects are currently in conceptual phase.
